Lord of the Tomes

I'm not an avid reader of books...atleast used to be like that...I've been bit by this bug off late after i came to work here in Chennai...The main reason being i didnt have an idiot box in my place and to pass time i had to capitulate to Books...Now I've become what u might call a Book "freak" averaging abt 2 books /week....I've even gone to the extent of completing two books in a day....

The average of mine started to decline a month back when i decided to read critically acclaimed "Lord of the Rings"....Please note that i'd seen the movie version of it more than once...Okay now about the book...There's a note at the back of the book sayin "There are two kinds of people on earth...Those who have read Lord of the Rings and those who are going to read"...Man believe me its one heck of a book...u can call it an epic....

The author has done everything for the book from creating an entirely new world to inventin a language...The prologue and the initial parts of it might be on the slower side but once u r thru the half of the first part its pretty much fast...For a book of such volume it is appreciably quick and the occurring of events is pretty interesting....

One thing that captures your attention is the exhaustive description of the landscapes and meticulous portrayal of the scenics...And for people who have not read the book or seen the movie the book has only a handful of Men characters...You 'll come across many kinds of races like Elves, Dwarves, Ents, Orcs, Trolls etc....

You will also find maps of Middle Earth the place where the story is supposed to be happening....Drawn to scale...If you have the habit of reading books give this book a chance...you'll appreciate it...u jus need a lil bit of patience to start with......
